DUZ #3: The Yellow Wallpaper
1995; each roll 20.5" x variable length
1999 corner installation at Carleton College, MN; approx. 8'x8'

DUZ #3: The Yellow Wallpaper was the last issue of a serial art multiple
project that grew out of Duda Magazine (1984-1990). It references Charlotte
Perkins Gilman's 1899 novella, "intended to save people from being driven crazy"
due to isolation and removal from intellectual and creative pursuits as a curative
for depression. As in Gilman's story, The Yellow Wallpaper portrays the artist as
a young woman entangled in layers of convention.
