Betty Rymer Gallery, Chicago, 2001
The cover image is adapted from an illustration in an interior
design book. A woman is portrayed in a cocktail dress and
pearls as if ready to go out, but a book is her date for the
evening. I recreated the domestic environment in the gallery,
styled myself in the persona of the woman, and performed a
reading of the book as if to reproduce her experience.
